Malahide Parish Centre

The new Parish Centre delicately wraps around three sides of St. Sylvester’s church. On one side the pastoral centre with hall, meeting spaces and a café are arranged around a bright central cloister. A priest’s penthouse apartment and roof garden perches above, with a discrete car park below. At the back a new sacristy connects directly to the sanctuary and overlooks the ancient well, with a circular contemplative chapel and meditation garden to the east. The project combines sensitive contemporary design, with good conservation of the existing 19th century church, and the creation of a new civic plaza and formal garden facing the main street.
