Seán Harrington Architects are based in Dublin and work extensively throughout Ireland and internationally. Over the past 25 years, the practice has built a strong and diverse portfolio. Our team combines the depth of experience of long-serving senior staff with the energy and fresh perspective of younger colleagues, ensuring our work remains current, informed and progressive. We foster a supportive and nurturing studio environment, making our practice a rewarding place to work, reflected in our strong staff retention.

Since founding the practice in 2005, Seán has drawn on nearly two decades of experience gained with Edward Cullinan Architects and as a Partner at Howley Harrington Architects. His work in housing and bridge design has earned national and international recognition, along with numerous design awards. A respected voice in the profession, Seán has lectured internationally on architecture, housing, and sustainability, and previously held the role of Vice-President of the RIAI.

Having worked in private practice since graduating in 2000, Ryan has been instrumental in shaping the practice since its establishment in 2005. He has extensive experience in many award winning housing, bridges, infrastructure, and community projects, with a lead role from inception to delivery. Together with Seán, Ryan manages the practice, ensuring it remains responsive, innovative, and well-positioned to embrace future opportunities.

Gavin has been an integral part of Seán Harrington Architects since its establishment in 2005. With extensive experience in public and residential architecture, he has developed a particular specialism in housing for older people. Passionate about sustainable design, he also leads the practice’s compliance and management systems, helping to ensure excellence in project delivery and practice operations.

A qualified Architect since 2011, Deirdre joined the practice in 2018. She has played a leading role on many of the practice's recent award winning housing projects. Her attention to detail and process, aided with her unparalleled people skills make here an incredible asset. She leads the practice's BIM policy, and has a particular interest in Conservation.

Anna joined the practice in 2014 following her graduation and has since developed extensive experience in housing design. She plays a key mentoring role within the practice, supporting and developing emerging talent. With particular interests in sustainable and age-friendly design, Anna has presented and spoken at conferences and events both in Ireland and internationally.

Stephen joined the practice in 2018 after more than 15 years in private practice. With extensive experience across all stages of project delivery, he has acted as both Senior Architect and Employer’s Representative on some of the practice’s landmark projects. His thoughtful and rigorous approach is complemented by a deep interest in housing policy, strategy, and innovative approaches to housing design and delivery.

Ruairí joined the practice in 2018, bringing experience from previous roles in private practice. Since then, he has worked across all stages of a number of significant housing and infrastructure projects. He has built a reputation for his diligence, collaborative approach, and commitment to quality, skills that have enabled him to develop into an accomplished and experienced Project Architect.

Emily is an emerging architectural professional whose enthusiasm for learning is matched by her dedication and attention to detail. Since graduating, she has embraced opportunities across a variety of project types and is rapidly building experience and expertise throughout the practice’s diverse portfolio.

Hieu joined the practice in 2023 and has quickly established herself as a talented, dedicated, and valued member of the team. Bringing a broad and varied range of experience, she approaches each project with enthusiasm and a strong commitment to learning. Hieu is currently working towards completing her professional practice qualification.

Conor has been with the practice since 2019 and has contributed to a wide range of projects across all sectors. He brings creativity, design flair, and strong visual communication skills to his work. As he continues to broaden his experience, Conor is developing his project administration skills in advance of completing his professional practice examinations.
