Navigating public
Comprehensive understanding of public procurement processes without compromising design quality.
High quality, cost certainty, and timely delivery are key objectives for both government and industry. We embed these principles within our integrated design approach, combining best-practice urban design, sustainable low-energy and low-carbon solutions, and robust project delivery processes to achieve successful outcomes
A curated selection of projects that exemplify our Public Works understanding.
How we navigate public works delivery.
01
Collaborative leadership and communication
We establish clear roles, defined scopes, and regular meetings from the outset, enabling efficient decisions, proactive problem-solving, and better project outcomes.
02
Strong risk identification and management
We identify key risks early, maintain a live risk register, and implement effective mitigation measures, for successful project delivery.
03
Robust cost planning and control
We maintain budget alignment through ongoing cost reviews and careful management of scope changes in collaboration with the Quantity Surveyor.
04
Complete and coordinated design
We produce coordinated, clear, and buildable tender packages, using detailed specifications and constructability reviews to reduce the risk of claims, disputes, and delays.
05
Effective contract administration and governance
Our experience as Architect and Employer’s Representative enables effective contract administration, structured change control, and compliance with CWMF procedures.
Delivery of Employers Representative services
The National Archives redevelopment at Kevin Street is a recently completed project that involved the extensive retrofit of an existing warehouse to create a state-of-the-art archive facility achieving Passive House standards, future proofed to enable future expansion.
Seán Harrington Architects provided both Architect and Employer’s Representative (ER) services, and guided the project through all works stages. Our role as ER included project planning, contract administration, and liaison with the Project Board and other stakeholders. The project, of total value €37m, was successfully delivered under the PW-CF1 Public Works Contract.
